About breastmilk and Nestlé infant formula
Nestlé believes that breastmilk is the ideal nutrition for babies. That’s why we support and promote the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommendation of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months. After this, parents or caregivers should introduce nutritious complementary foods, alongside sustained breastfeeding for up to two years and beyond.
In cases where breastfeeding is not possible or chosen, the WHO recognizes Nestlé infant formula as a suitable substitute. Nestlé is committed to supporting and promoting breastfeeding through responsible breastmilk substitute (BMS) marketing policies.
Nestlé complies with the WHO Code and later WHA Resolutions as implemented by national governments worldwide. We voluntarily apply our own policy when it is stricter than national regulations in 152 countries considered ‘higher risk’ in terms of infant mortality and malnutrition. In these countries, we also specify that children should only be fed complementary foods from six months.

NESTLÉ LACTOGEN
Nestlé LACTOGEN 1 is an infant formula with Probiotic (L.reuteri) suitable for infants who are not breastfed or exclusively top fed. This formula includes Whey Protein, a component of milk which is easy to digest.
Nestlé LACTOGEN 2, 3 and 4 are spray-dried follow-up formulas, suitable for when infants are not breastfed or exclusively top-fed.
- Nestlé LACTOGEN 2 is for infants aged 6-12 months
- Nestlé LACTOGEN 3 is for infants aged 12-18 months

NESTLÉ NAN EXCELLAPRO
NESTLÉ NAN EXCELLAPRO 1 is a spray-dried formula for infants who are not breastfed. It contains 2 HMOs (Human Milk Oligosaccharides): 2’FL and LNnT. It also contains DHA, ARA and L.reuteri.
NESTLÉ NAN EXCELLAPRO 2 and 3 are spray-dried follow-up formulas for infants who are not breastfed. Enriched with DHA and ARA, they support normal brain development in babies. Additionally, the formula contains essential nutrients such as Vitamins A, C, D, Iron, Calcium, and Zinc.
